Sometimes, life is a struggle and there’s really no denying that. Maybe you don’t want to get out of bed in the morning, or if you’re me it just seems impossible to imagine the moment you have to turn the water off in the shower. We don’t always have good days. Some days are tough. I mean life would certainly be a lot easier if you didn’t have to work. What if you didn’t have to worry about money? Worry about your job? Worry about anything? Sure life would be easier, but what would you really achieve in life if everything was handed to you on a silver platter? One key trick in life is that amongst all of your truly shit days, trying to maintain some semblance of positivity. Trying to self motivate yourself into doing the best you can, and know that’s all you can do.

I hate to reiterate this time and time again, but when you actually boil down the time we have on this journey called life it’s infinitesimal. There’s just not that much time. So what do you do to make sure you are making the most out of life when at times things can be hard? There is no simple one trick pony that is going to propel you into a space of absolute happiness. Happiness comes from within. But the fact of the matter is, once you start to understand the truly short amount of time we have here the faster you’ll start making the most of the time you have. You can’t always assume that life is going to be a breeze. There are always trials and tribulations to bog you down and make you negative. The best part of life is what comes after you get knocked down, and pick yourself up off of the floor. It’s very easy to be negative and look at things in a dark way, but the best part of life comes once you give yourself the ability to see things in a positive light.

Look, we all know that life sucks sometimes. But if you take the time to appreciate the small little things around you perhaps you can start generating a more positive attitude more frequently in your life. I truly believe if you go to sleep happy you can wake up happy. At some point you have an epiphany and realize that life is what you make of it. Nobody is going to hand you things and nobody is going to make you happy but yourself. You can’t rely on outside people or factors to make you happy, you have to do that yourself. So how do you do that? Very simply, start from within.

Wake up every morning as if that day was made specifically just for you. Start out by just being thankful that you have a roof over your head, some people aren’t that lucky. Realize that when you get into your bathroom to brush your teeth or take a shower there are still people in the world without access to running water. When you get that first text message from your family, or friends, understand that some people don’t have a loving family, or have great friends. Once you start to recognize the blessings you have in life the quicker you can start to appreciate things more. And that’s what life is about. Life is about hitting a point where you say fuck all the bullshit, fuck all the noise, and make yourself happy. Find a job you love. Chase a passion you can’t do without and make as many memories as you can. Life is short but if you do everything you can, every second of everyday, to make yourself happy, maybe, just maybe, you’ll end it with a big smile on your face.
